This book is a magic mirror letting you know exactly how you feel about female genitalia. The remark one reader made that many of the vulvas depicted would scare male readers is quite telling. They might scare a lot of readers, and the confrontation and analysis of that fear is what makes this book immensely important rather than just visually beautiful.
Femalia A Customer on Dec 21, Femalia is a wonderful book illustrating the many variations of vulva. If any girl or woman thinks her vulva is deformed, ugly, etc. The photography was excellent. But art, as any public gallery worth the name will attest, is far more than mere pretty pictures.
It is a brave and lonely voice challenging the contemporary view of the female body, so overwhelmingly submerged in fantasy and falsification. This is an important work. I highly recommend it to any man genuinely interested in the female form, and to any woman estranged from her own.
Excellent in every way. A Customer on Jul 19, This a book mothers should give their adolescent daughters and their sisters and their friends. It is a book women should give their lovers. It is a book the reveals a spectrum of female beauty few have ever seen. These pictures are presented without sensationalism and without censure.
They work as art. They work as anatomy lesson. They work as images for a holy altar to the Great Mother of us all. Suberb, extreme high quality photographic book A Customer on Oct 14, Although a small, thin book, this book is superb!
It is the only book in this area I know of, and a companion Malia volume would be very welcome. Femalia A Customer on Oct 03, This book was very therapeutic for me! Many women are unaware of the internal features of the labia. I recommend it for women who need to become familiar with their bodies. For example, Vaginismus, women are scared to look at themself or feel shameful and this book will help them heal from this thought process The Real Deal!!! A Customer on Jun 29, This book is nothing but vulvas.
Pure and simple. I bought this book because my girlfriend was always asking what other women look like. Her query made me curious too and she had heard about this book. We both enjoyed it and appreciated the clear photos, variety of shapes and colors and gave us a new appreciation of our own bodies. Beautiful women! A Customer on Sep 29, I was always nervous about the way my labia looked.
Finding this book of pictures in the store helped me immediatly feel better. The drawings in other books are always extreamly difficult to acknowlege as anything that would belong to my body. I have yet to see one drawing that was much more than a bunch of wavey lines put together to form "?
Beauty is truth, and truth beauty. By Siannan on Feb 22, No airbrushing, no artistic lighting, just page after page showcasing the diversity of vulvae. Each one as different as the faces of the women must be that own them; the subjects are kept anonymous so no bias can be given by the viewer; for who is to say what connotes pulchritude of genitalia? This book is at once theraputic and aesthetically pleasing.
Femalia has full color images, one per page, and most have pubic hair, some are pierced, and women of all different skin colors are included.
Personally, I think all mothers with daughters, as well as anyone working with women and teens should have them both. Great great great, important book! By Thalia on Mar 19, What a wonderful book! I loved that these pictures were of women who were NOT sexually stimulated. Also, that many of them were natural. Excellent book! As varied as our faces By Linda Poelzl on Mar 14, This book provides an educational resource, showing in frank detail pages and pages of "portraits" of the female vulva the external female genitalia.
I was expecting a book about 4x as thick as this one was, expecting to see a lot more variety. Still, it was helpful. Gotta love it. By Axgd on Feb 06, I really enjoyed watching it, I have only glanced through it the first time, but it was exiting to see different colors, shapes, piercings. As a woman I have never gotten to see that many vulvas. It is really enjoyable and I like it that is non threatening, not pornography, it is what it is, and I feel that is very needed and refreshing.
Pictures are tastefully taken and this little book could be used as a coffee table item to confront or break the ice! Five Stars By. This particular edition is in a Paperback format. One could easily look at the entire thing in a matter of seconds or spend the better part of an hour or more looking at these.
